About:

Welcome!

Keystone Carving LLC is a family owned and operated small business in Pennsylvania that makes “Heirloom Quality Quilter’s Clappers” and other artisan wood products featuring personalized wood carvings. John is the operations manager; Stacy manages the photography and shipping. John R., Brandin, and Ryan are the craftsman with specific involvement in various aspects of operations (see below).

We love the Lord, our Family, and this Country.

Our wood carving business was originally an extension of our remodeling business until the quilter in our family, Stacy, wanted a clapper. Stacy sewed for decades but it was not until she finished homeschooling our sons, after 14 years, that she was able to pursue her passion for quilting. As you will see, she is the reason we make quilter’s clappers today.

When Stacy first asked me to make her a clapper I was skeptical. I thought “How does a quilter’s clapper work?” So before I made the first one for her in September of 2022, I studied and answered the question. See our Clapper Facts page to learn what I learned.

Below are the first clappers I made for Stacy.

For nearly a year Stacy encouraged us to start selling them. So finally in July of 2023 we made 60 hardwood clappers out of Cherry with the butterfly wood carve and offered personalization as a test to see if they would sell. They sold out super-fast and by October of 2023 we were fully committed to selling Tailor’s Clappers and other artisan wood products. By May of 2024 we celebrated the sale of our 1000th clapper. Today many of our clappers are BESTSELLERS and we continue to add new clappers to our inventory.
